Is there anyway to launch the "robotask Service" system from an icon other than the one in the tray?
When remotely controlling a system via Terminal server I can not see the tray icon!

Robotask service works properly on "Terminal Server", BUT robotask service (or any other service) can interact with console in DEFAULT DESKTOP only. For "Terminal Server" technology "Default Desktop" is Local console (not Terminal session).
"Terminal session" can't be "default desktop". So you can't see green tray icon in terminal session.
Therefore you can configure "Robotask Service" on local console only.

For Windows XP (with using fast user switching) "Default Desktop" is FIRST user session.

Thanks you for your response.  Is there some way to make a shortcut or link that would emulate clicking on the green icon normally associated with the service?
What I would like to be able to do is:
1. Control my server remotely use terminal services.
2.  Modify the settings that are associated with the robotask service (not robotask itself).
It seems the settings associated with robotask are not the same that are used by the service.

No, service can't interact with desktop in terminal session. It's "Windows" property.

You can oversee RoboTask service by log files only. You can't control any service interactively at terminal session. Service should work in autonomic mode. You can start and stop service only.

Suggestion:
In order to configure RoboTask service at terminal session, you can do the following:
1. Specify in "RoboTask-desktop" (in your profile) same tasks folder what in "RoboTask-Service". Menu "Opton | Settings".
2. Now you can configure service from your RoboTask-desktop copy
- Stop RoboTask service
- Configure some tasks
- Start RoboTask service

Perfect, stop the service, modify via robotask, restart service!

Hi,
Got pretty much the same problem as Osm3um.
my default folder for the task is :
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\RoboTask\Tasks
I'm searching for the default folder of the service?

Try opening the service and checking in there for the settings.  When you install the service it adds an tray icon which is a different color than the normal robotask..works fine for me now!
Alternatively you can control your server/workstation with VNC or Dameware and the issue no longer is a problem.

For RoboTask-service task folder is <RoboTask_Folder>\Tasks

By default RoboTask_Folder = C:\Program Files\RoboTask
