Speed on FTP transfer

I'm currently using Robotask to transfer a lot of data using FTP on an internal network. There is a 100Mbps connection between machines, but it appears that Robotask only can utilize 30% of this speed. Using other FTP tools like Filezilla to do the transfer manually between the exact same machines have no problems utilizing the full available bandwidth.
Are there any limitations to the bandwidth usable for a single ftp session? Are there any way to tune the speed?
Robotask is running on a pretty new IBM server under windows server 2003.
